Software functionality

When opening Tableau there is an option to connect existing data. It can be done later on as well.

When opening a new file this window comes up.

On the left side of the screen, you will see the data pane with various tabs, including the data and analytics tabs. The largest section of the workspace is dedicated to the view, where data visualizations are displayed. Each sheet can only have one visualization, but they can be combined to create dashboards and stories. Utilize the menu at the top of the workspace to access commands, analysis, and navigation tools. Below that is another toolbar with numerous shortcuts and shelves that store data fields such as pages, filters, columns, and rows. Under the filters shelf, you will find the marks shelf. Similar to Excel, more sheets can be added at the bottom of the page, which can be navigated by using arrows on the status bar. You can also change the view by using the icons located on the bottom right side of the screen.
