Software (overview)
Tableau was founded by Chris Stolte, Pat Hanrahan, and Christian Chabo in 2003 as a result of a computer science project at Stanford that aimed to improve the flow of analysis and make data more accessible to people through visualization. Tableau is a powerful and popular data visualization and business intelligence software. It is designed to help users easily analyse, visualize, and share data. It is a database software that connects and visualises data in minutes. Tableau is ten to one hundred times faster than existing solutions. (Tableau.com, 2023) Today, organizations everywhere—from non-profits to global enterprises, and across all industries and departments—are empowering their people with Tableau to drive change with data.
